Nearly a year ago, my cousin's wife had a baby boy. He was born within half an hour of exactly 21 years after me. I have never made an effort to give any of my extended family gifts for any occassion, but this little boy is special. I made this for him for his first birthday.

With the exception of the side seams (body to underbelly), the ribs on the underbelly, and the wings, tooth, and spines (just getting them together, not getting them on the plushie), the entire plushie is hand sewn. The edging on the blanket is machine sewn, but with great difficulty cause that fabric sucks to work with. The eyes are massive buttons (sewn on with my patented never break button sewing technique). The wings, tooth, and spines are the same fabric as the edging of the blanket. The tail is attached to the blanket.

Body: patterned blue and red no-fray fleece
Spines/Tooth/Wings/Binding: dark blue satin (or something very similar)
Eyes: big green buttons (with swirls)
Blanket: Super fuzzy super soft patterned fabric (that frays and leaves little bits like none other when it's cut)

I took a horse pattern I found and modified it to suit my needs as a dragon because I couldn't find a decent dragon pattern for free.

I learned how to sew when I was little, I just rarely use the skill. And I really do hope he likes it. :D
